How IG helped me with baby number 3

It's no secret that taking care of babies is hard. I didn't know that until i had Ayra and boy, that first year was a wakeup call. Whoo! I followed everyone's advice, old wive's tales to be honest and it got me nowhere. Being my first baby, I had alot of problems with Ayra. She rejected the bottle, did not want a pacifier and essentially, at one point, she didn't sleep unless she was attached to me. That made for a few very hectic months and led me to implement the Cry It Out method, which by the way, everyone in my house hated me for. But i had no choice, i simply could not carry on like that. Eventually she settled down and i also embraced exclusively feeding her.

Baby two, Alina was a self soother from the start. She used to suck on her hand or her inner cheek to go to sleep and so she made for an unusually easy baby. As hard as Ayra's first year had been, Alina's was the complete opposite. Within a few months, she came to rely on her "Element", as she called it, her little blanky with an elephant toy on it. That, to this day, is her safety blanket. I'm not worried, she will grow out of it.

Now, in May of this year, i had Baby Zayd. By now, i'm using IG as a means of research and i found multiple pages by lactation consultants and baby sleep coaches. Some of the tips they are giving are literal revelations to me. For example, i had no clue, as i'm sure 90% of moms don't either, that babies spend alot of their time in REM sleep, which is active sleep, where they are moving and grunting and making noises. For me, this meant i had to immediately go in and pick the baby up to soothe them. But no, we are supposed to not do that and let the baby go back to sleep on its on. Which is what Zayd does now.

He is still tiny and i know i have a long way to go but these pages by professionals, are helping me out alot. We don't have access to things like sleep coaches and lactation consultants here in Pakistan, all we rely on are experiences of our mothers and grandmothers. Which leads to things like, do not feed the baby while your hair is wet, it will make them ill.......

So any new moms out there, who are struggling, please head on over to IG and follow these pages. Especially the mama coach. They will change your life, and make motherhood, not a breeze, but a gentle storm, not a full blown tornado.
